About
In April 2000, New Testament Baptist Church held its first church service with Dr. Curtis Martin as the pastor. In January 2022, Dr. Martin retired and Ivan Plemmons, Jr. became the Lead Pastor. After ministering in Rochester for 25 years, God has lead the church to move to Stewartville, MN, just 10 miles south of Rochester. The church still operates under the name New Testament Baptist Church, but we are making the transition to Safe Haven Baptist Church in the coming months. The vision and purpose remains the same. Making Christ known in the community God has called us too.

Our Pastor
Pastor Ivan and his wife, Stephanie, have been married since 2014 and have four children, Robert, Lucille, Deborah, and Nora.
Pastor Ivan has been the Lead Pastor at Safe Haven since 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Great Plains Baptist Divinity School.
